Your doctor guides you, but the hospital cares for you
Why choosing a hospital can change everything
When someone needs medical care, the first thing they look for is a good doctor. Someone with experience, trust and humanity. And that is fine. But what we sometimes forget is that this doctor, on their own, could not do much without a hospital environment that provides support, backing and the right conditions to heal.
Choosing the right hospital is as important as choosing the doctor who treats you. Because a hospital is not just a building with beds: it is a network of people, processes, equipment and protocols working —day and night— to save your life.
What does a hospital do for you?
Behind every procedure, surgery or consultation there is precise machinery that must work with excellence. A hospital cares for you when it:
- Ensures a safe and clean infrastructure, with operating rooms, intensive care units and emergency teams ready to act.
- Implements protocols for safety, sterilization, traceability and infection control.
- Has trained nurses who care for you with knowledge and empathy.
- Has administrative staff, stretcher bearers, technicians and operational staff who make everything flow, even if you don’t see them.
- Offers state-of-the-art medical technology that enables accurate diagnoses and more precise treatments.
- Is prepared for emergencies, with immediate response 24 hours a day.
- Supports you with a multidisciplinary team (anesthesiologists, radiologists, intensivists, etc.) that works alongside your trusted doctor.
A good doctor needs a good hospital
Many patients arrive at a hospital because their doctor recommends it. And that is fine: doctors know the environments that best support them. But the patient has the right to also choose consciously and with their own criteria.
The doctor is the one who traces the path, but the hospital is the ground where that path is walked.

Breaking myths about HPV: Dr. Francisco Borrayo gives an informative talk at Joya Hospital
With the aim of promoting a better understanding of sexual health and dispelling myths around one of the most common infections, Dr. Francisco Joel Borrayo, gynecologist-obstetrician at Joya Hospital, gave last weekend the talk entitled “Understanding HPV, human papillomavirus”*. During his talk, the specialist stressed the importance of providing clear, evidence-based information about this virus, which affects both men and women. “It is a fairly common topic, but still surrounded by misinformation. The reality is that we must break the myth that it only affects a specific age group.
Incidence is high at different stages of life,” Dr. Borrayo pointed out. In his presentation, the gynecologist-obstetrician addressed some of the most frequent myths that persist among the population. Among them, the belief that if someone has HPV and shows no symptoms, there is nothing to worry about. “80% of cases have no visible symptoms, which creates a false sense of security. Another common myth is thinking that only women suffer from it, when in fact men can also carry and transmit the virus,” he explained.
The talk, aimed at the general public, is part of the health education activities promoted by Joya Hospital, with the aim of encouraging prevention, timely diagnosis and open conversation about sexual health topics. Dr. Borrayo stressed that knowledge is the best tool to combat misinformation and prevent complications associated with HPV, such as precancerous lesions and cervical cancer.
